brick by brick

bricks. bricks and I, we’ve had quite a run together. The assignment was ten pen/line art drawings of architecture. I focused a lot on the composition of the drawing-which unfortunately ended up hindering my drawings a little, because of the awkward positions that I was drawing them in. Now-for the most part, you’ll see that the bricky buildings just have a sort of parallel, horizontal line, and some intermittent vertical lines, which are supposed to represent the mortar. However-the extreme perspective drawing of the bricks, i used a sharpie, and this really spastic, sketchy stroke, and I think the formal qualities of that sketch far outweigh the more detailed, perfectionist-type drawings. The thing that took the most time for this project was the initial sketching-getting the linear perspective right, and making everything look believable. Do they look okay to you?
